Visit Artful Cakery by Julie on Cake Central

Before social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest became the primary place to share cake designs, there was a popular online community called Cake Central where cake decorators from around the world could post photos of their work, share ideas, and learn new techniques.

For many years, I uploaded photos of my cake creations there. While I haven’t added new posts in quite a while, my Cake Central profile is still online and includes many of the cakes I created in the earlier years of my baking journey.

Looking back through those photos is a fun reminder of how my cake decorating style has evolved over time. Many of those designs were created for birthdays, themed parties, and celebrations for friends, family, and clients.

Even though these cakes were made years ago, they represent an important part of the journey that eventually led to Artful Cakery by Julie, where I now specialize in custom wedding cakes, sculpted cakes, and celebration cakes for events across Atlanta and North Georgia.

From Early Cake Designs to a Wedding Cake Studio

Over the years, my passion for cake decorating continued to grow. What began as creating themed cakes for birthdays and celebrations gradually evolved into designing custom cakes for weddings and special events.

Today, Artful Cakery by Julie focuses primarily on:

Custom wedding cakes
Sculpted groom’s cakes
Realistic 3-D cakes
Elegant tiered celebration cakes
Dessert tables for weddings and events

Each cake is still designed individually, just as those early creations were — but with years of additional experience, refined techniques, and an even stronger focus on artistry and detail.

A Creative Journey That Started Years Ago

Looking back at these early designs is a reminder that every artist’s journey evolves over time. Those early cakes helped build the foundation for the style and creativity that now defines Artful Cakery by Julie.

While my Cake Central page may feel like a bit of a time capsule today, it still showcases the creativity and experimentation that helped shape my approach to cake design.
