A Night of Atlanta Glam: Artful Cakery by Julie at the Atlanta Style Weddings 2026 Issue Launch
Being invited to participate as a dessert sponsor for the Atlanta Style Weddings 2026 Issue Release Party was both an honor and a creative highlight for me as a wedding cake designer. While much of my work happens behind the scenes, this event offered a rare opportunity to step into the celebration alongside Atlanta’s wedding professionals — surrounded by artistry, collaboration, and a shared love for unforgettable experiences.
Hosted by Atlanta Style Weddings and held at the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead, the evening was designed as a glamorous gathering where vendors became guests, and creativity took center stage. I was proud to contribute a dessert display that reflected the energy of the night while staying true to my signature style: thoughtful design, intentional flavor pairings, and desserts meant to be enjoyed as much as admired.
An Elevated Dessert Experience for Atlanta’s Wedding Industry
For this invitation-only event, I designed a dessert presentation that felt both dramatic and refined, pairing a statement cake with a curated assortment of bite-sized desserts. The goal was to create a table that felt cohesive with the moody, metallic aesthetic of the evening while still offering approachable, crowd-pleasing flavors.
At the center of the display was a multi-tiered faux cake, created as a sculptural focal point for the dessert table. Layered textures, metallic accents, and deep, romantic tones echoed the luxe design elements throughout the ballroom, while adding height and visual drama to the display.
The Dessert Menu
Each dessert was crafted to be elegant, indulgent, and easy for guests to enjoy while mingling — with several gluten-friendly options included as well.
Desserts featured at the event included:
Pecan pie truffles
Chocolate chip cookie sandwiches filled with buttercream
Dessert shooters with spiced apple cider cake, apple pie filling, and brown butter frosting
Gourmet brownies with chocolate chips, toasted pecans, and dulce de leche
Gluten-free brownie bites with chocolate buttercream
Sugar cookie truffles
Vanilla petit fours with raspberry filling
Chocolate petit fours with raspberry filling
Strawberry lemonade dessert shooters with lemon curd and strawberry buttercream
The menu balanced rich, seasonal flavors with lighter, fruit-forward options — giving guests a variety of textures and tastes to enjoy throughout the evening.
Celebrating Collaboration & Community
One of the most meaningful aspects of the evening was seeing Atlanta’s wedding professionals step away from their usual roles and truly enjoy being guests of honor. From the music and décor to the desserts and cocktails, every detail reflected the collaborative spirit that makes this industry so special.
Sharing the dessert experience alongside other talented cake artists was a reminder of how much creativity and passion exists within Atlanta’s wedding community — and how fortunate I am to be a part of it.
